I am so excited to meet you, but first let me introduce myself. I am Teresa Schmidt, my colleagues know me as a nurse while my clients know me as a photographer. As a nurse, I have the absolute pleasure of watching little ones come into this world and the unfortunate aspect of caring for those whose lives have come to an end. The one common fact in these moments of joy and despair are the memories that we as humans cherish. When a little one is born, we take as many photos as we can to remember every last detail. When an elderly relative passes away, it is the photos that we took throughout their lives that we then cherish and look back on.
I chose photography as a creative outlet to be the one who captures memories for the very best clients. My clients cherish their photos and understand the importance of having these memories that will truly last a lifetime and beyond. My favorite part of any wedding that I get to capture is the happiness, the love, and the laughter that comes along with the importance of the day. Memories like these are the moments that you will forever remember!
My love for photography began with film when my children were first born and I slowly worked my way up to my current gear (a Canon 5d Mark iii). I am always humbled by my first camera , a Nikon N60, and keep it close by just to remind myself of what a journey my photography career has been!
I am from Crown Point, Indiana – the city with the old antique courthouse sitting in the middle of it. When I am not photographing my favourite couples, families, or seniors, I love to be outside! I love to travel, go hiking, go camping with my family! I have 2 children, a daughter who is 23 and a son who is 12. My daughter is a full time college student chasing her dream of being a pharmacist. She is so smart and beautiful and has made me the woman I am today. It is amazing how much she has changed my life! My son is such a loving boy and still snuggles me to this day, I hope he never grows up! Being a single mom, I am so proud to have 2 of the best children anyone could ask for.
We have two rescues dogs – Max, a border collie mix, and Willie, a jack russel.
